Plays - man-up
Playname : Play - man-up vs split

sketch
1
Objective: To break down a split defence, where the defence drops on #2 position (the same play works on the opposite side if the defence drops on #4).

Description
: If the defenders on the wings do not press out on '#1 and #5 attackers, attacker # should move to the two metres with the ball. The left post (lp) attacker should move into the gap between 4 and 5 and the right post (rp) attacker should move into the middle.

#1 passes the ball to #2 who either shots, if the defender has moved from the right post, or moves in with the ball, towards the centre of the goal, attacking the splitting defender. If the splitting defender comes to make the tackle on #2, #4 moves in for a quick pass from #2 and a shot. Having passed #2 must rotate to defence.

If the wings are pressed, the movement and passing of rp, lp, #'2 and #4 is the same, with the ball originating at #2. Again, if #2 penetrates and passes, he must rotate to defence immediately.
