Plays - set def
Playname : Play - defending two centres

sketch
1
Objective: To defend avoiding exclusion when the attacking team sets two centres.

Description: The defence presses out on the perimeter attackers. The defender of the attacker on the defence's right post positions himself between the two centre forwards so he can steal the ball if it comes into either centre.

Where the attacking has two strong centres who get position on their centre backs, the defence should adjust as follows: #1's defender blocks moving out his attacker if he has the ball and drops back towards the centre forward on his side if the attacker on the wing does not have the ball. #5's defender does the same on the other side. The defender between #2 and #4 gaps between them, concentrating more on position the attacker at 4.

The dropping defender aligns more towards the centre on the defence's left post, also attempting to block shots from the outside shooters. The centre backs mark the two centres and attempt to block shots in their respective corners of the goal.
