1 Objective: Familiarity with position, positional discipline. Description: Moving from position 1 to 6 in sequence, the coach or centre forward calls the number to pass to and a single pass is made and a shot taken. Only one pass is made because this is primarily a shooting exercise and pressure must be put on the quality of that first pass. Progression for this is to two passes and shoot, then 3 passes and shoot, finally to an optional number of passes. The shooter should retrieve the ball from their own shot. The centre forward must take realistic centre forward shots. A progression would be for each player to move a meter or two in any direction before shooting. |

2 A variation, particularly in a match warm-up, would be to have a player on half way receiving passes from the goalkeeper to initiate the attack. Players may switch positions, but in general it is preferable to have players in their best position. Coaching points: Quick pass and reaction to receiving pass. Kick-up for pass and for the shot. tk |
